Ambassadorial Roundtable - Jordan

The Arab British Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in London, is organising an Ambassadorial Roundtable for Jordan, to be held on Tuesday25th January 2022, starting at 10.00 am to 1.00pm GMT (registration from 9.30 am).

Our keynote speaker will be His Excellency Mr Manar Dabbas, Jordan's Ambassador to London, who will open the discussion on investment prospects and potential for cooperation between UK and Jordanian businesses. Having long enjoyed a strategic partnership, Jordan and the United Kingdom last year marked a century of friendship. A bilateral preferential trade agreement came into force on 1 May 2021, setting the framework for an expansion of business transactions. Total trade between the two countries reached £561 million in 2020, the latest full year of data available. Economic growth in 2022 should accelerate to 2.7 percent as Jordan's recovery gains pace nurtured by efficiency measures and structural reforms.

Jordan boasts a young, educated and highly motivated population which is a key asset for future private sector led growth. Renewable energy, advanced information technology, infrastructure, tourism and education all offer attractions for UK investors.
