The Union is an independent non-governmental, non-profit regional legal entity, where its name was modified to be “Union of Arab Chambers” (UAC) at the 120th Session of the Union’s Council happened in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman on March 26, 2016. The awareness of the Arab Businessmen for the importance of the regional cooperation as a tool to advance the Arab Economic Development was the main motive behind the foundation of this Union so, the Union was the first Arab Economic Institution to work at the non-governmental level in order to promote the idea of economic cooperation and integration among the Arab Countries. The Union has played an important role in the process of promoting the trade cooperation between the Arab Countries at the levels of commerce and investment. The Union was always the first to call for the foundation of the Common Arab Market and developing the general principles that should be implemented in order to achieve Economic Unity between the Arab Countries.

Liverpool City Region (LCR) Freeport is one of only eight freeports in England. After working in partnership with ports, businesses, local authorities, trade unions and wider stakeholders, its Full Business Case (FBC) was approved by the UK Government in December 2022. Designated areas within the freeport zone will benefit from incentives to encourage economic activity. Freeports operate with both ‘tax’ and ‘customs’ sites. Tax sites offer occupiers business rates relief and other incentives to support capital investment, skills and employment. Business rates generated at the tax sites will be retained locally for 25 years and reinvested in the area. Customs sites help enable the tariff-free movement of goods for both export and import through simplified customs procedures. The Liverpool City Region, home to the country’s leading transatlantic port, is a natural freeport location. With the UK’s biggest western facing port, handling 45% of the UK’s trade from the United States, the Freeport area takes in a 45km diameter from the western point of Wirral Waters to the eastern point of Port Salford and includes all six of the city region’s local authorities. The LCR Freeport is a multi-gateway, multi-modal zone covering 300 hectares of land and the freeport sites, which include several existing rail terminals and water-accessible locations, are located within areas of logistics and manufacturing capability. The freeport has been shaped to support the delivery of the Liverpool City Region’s vision outlined in its Plan for Prosperity and Economic Recovery Plan. Its overarching aim will be to ensure that the freeport contributes to the city region’s ambitions to create a fairer, stronger, cleaner city region, where no-one is left behind.

We came into being in1908, and in the 1970s Feltham, Hounslow and Chiswick Chambers merged. In the past, as Hounslow Chamber, we have held joint events with Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham Chambers. Over the years, we have built up an enviable reputation for being highly active and trustworthy. London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has now asked that we also offer this fully joined-up Chamber service to Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham – which we are proud to do under the banner of a dynamic new organisation, now known as West London Chambers of Commerce. It’s a rebranding for the modern age, creating a powerful body that aims to both help existing businesses expand locally and internationally and find new opportunities. This will allow them to generate employment, prosperity, and encourage new start-ups by giving them the support and resources they need to meet the challenges created by an ever-evolving, highly competitive marketplace.
