On 8th March 2008, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched Dubai Culture & Arts Authority to be the custodian entity of the cultural and creative sector in the emirate, based on its cultural responsibility towards Dubai and to help define it at the local and global levels, enabling and developing these sectors to consolidate the emirate’s position as an active global centre for creativity.

Before joining Dubai CommerCity, deVere worked for Central Group, Thailand’s largest Retail conglomerate managing their eCommerce and Omnichannel business across all their retail brands in Southeast Asia and Europe
Prior to moving to Thailand, he worked for Al Futtaim and Alshaya, two of the region’s largest retail franchise operators in the Middle East where he successfully launched online stores for IKEA, Ace Hardware, M&S, Mothercare, The Body Shop and La Senza
Much of deVere’s early experience in retail and eCommerce was in the UK, leading the digital transformation for Comet, Powerhouse and Dixons Carphone. He also was part of the Senior Management team that brought Best Buy to the UK as part of a joint venture with Carphone Warehouse in 2009.
Rashed is heading the Marketing department in Dubai CommerCity, the first dedicated e-commerce free zone in the MENASA region, with plans to position the unique smart city within Dubai as the desired e-commerce destination for regional and global players.
Rashed Al Mulla has over a decade of experience in marketing spread across the free zone , business tourism and oil & gas industries , with a widespread experience across various marketing models and strategies.
Before joining Dubai CommerCity, Rashed headed the marketing department within ENOC Commercial & International, where various automotive and industrial products were marketed within the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Prior to joining ENOC, his roles within DAFZA and DTCM focused on marketing and positioning Dubai as the ideal business destination and commercial hub within the region.
Marwan Mohamed Saleh is the Director of Sales and Business Development Free Zone at DMCC. He brings over 25 years of work experience in strategic planning, marketing and business development, driving international sales and realising business objectives.
Prior to joining DMCC, Mr. Saleh was the Head of Business Development and International Sales at the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC).
Mr. Saleh is well-known for his extensive work with Etisalat Afghanistan from 1996 to 2015. He began his career journey as a Government & Corporate Segment Manager. Demonstrating excellence and business acumen, he then climbed the corporate ladder to become Vice President for Etisalat Afghanistan between 2011-2014, before assuming the role of the CEO at Etisalat Afghanistan.
Mr. Saleh completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). He also holds multiple certifications in leadership and organisational leadership from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard Business School.
Mohammed Al Falasi is the Regional Representative – Middle East & Africa at DMCC (Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre), appointed to the role in September 2020.
Prior to Current position Mohammed held many senior roles at DMCC such as Manager Government Services & Senior Manager Business Relations.
