The 3rd Arab British Economic Summit (ABES 2023) was held on 20 November 2023 at the Hilton London Metropole, marking a significant success with record attendance. Under the theme "Sustaining an Emerging Vision," it featured sessions on key issues like water, food security, healthcare, tourism, and financial services. The event received positive media and participant feedback, attracting business delegations from various countries and making it the largest ABES event to date. With 950 delegates and over 30 businesses at the Expo, it showcased a wide range of products and services.

With an ambitious topical agenda that covered cutting edge industries, digital innovations, Artificial Intelligence, sustainable tourism, prospects for new trade deals and which looked forward to the COP28 deliberations in Dubai, ABES 2023 hosted numerous insightful discussions around the core theme of building on the enduring partnership between the UK and Arab countries to achieve greater sustainability and prosperity for all.


The comprehensive nature of the agenda concentrated on those sectors of the future that are leading the rapid transformation in the global economy while also fully reflecting the synergies that exist between the UK and the Arab economies. 

ABES 2023 showcased strong optimism for enhanced UK-Arab collaboration. High-profile speakers, including government ministers, business leaders, and His Excellency Mr Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, emphasized the potential for productive partnerships. Contributions from UK Government ministers, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon and Lord Dominic Johnson, alongside prominent figures like Mr Sameer Nass, President of the Union of Arab Chambers, and other experts, highlighted the Summit's role in fostering expertise across various sectors including healthcare, legal and financial services, food security, tourism, and IT. ABES 2023 successfully demonstrated the Arab British Chamber of Commerce's commitment to bolstering Arab-British business relations and emerging sectors, affirming its status as a key facilitator for business opportunities between the two regions.
