Prof. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar is currently the Minister of Health, Higher Education & Scientific Research, Egypt. He is a Professor of Oral Medicine, Oral Diagnosis, Oral Radiology and Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, Ain-Shams University. He held many positions prior to his current posting; he was Vice President for Postgraduates and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain-Shams University. He has received numerous recognitions including the IADR Award for Best Research (Seattle, Washington, USA) and the 1994 Unilever Travel Award IADR Best Research (USA, 1994). He ranked second for best research at the Euro-Perio (Paris, France, 1994) and ranked 1st for best research at Ain-Shams University, 1999. In addition to receiving the Distinguished National Medical Award (the National Academy for Scientific Research , 2001) and the Academic Associate Fellow (the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, October 2015, Prof. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar has also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Hiroshima in Japan for his significant contribution to the fields of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Notably, Prof. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar has also received an honorary fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2019.

After working in Latin America, Mr. Nosseir returned to Egypt where he assumed several positions in Alkan. Starting in 1989 he created Alkan’s fast-moving consumer goods business, which included exclusive manufacturing and distribution of international leading brands of carbonated soft drinks and cigarettes, and which was divested from in 1997. In 1993 he created the pharmaceutical business line of Alkan, which under his tenure expanded to include two of Egypt’s fastest-growing manufacturing joint ventures, all while expanding Alkan’s activities in the pharmaceutical sector until he divested it in 2009. He is currently the Executive Chairman of Alkan Group Egyptian conglomerate which operates in various sectors of industry, including: the automotive sector, heavy equipment production, power generation, medical equipment, IT, telecom services, systems integration, the export of cotton & manufacturing of cotton yarn, which include sixteen regional subsidiaries in Africa & the Middle East. Mr. Nosseir chairs the Egyptian Korean Business Council & is a member of EBA (Egyptian Businessmen’s Association) and the AmCham (American Chamber). He is also the ex-chairman of Special Olympics Egypt & chairs Re3aya a charity for Intellectual Disabilities. Mr. Nosseir has a degree in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business Administration.

Mr Bandar Ali Reda joined the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, on 1st March 2019, as Secretary General and CEO, becoming the fourth person to lead the Chamber since its foundation almost five decades ago.

As CEO, Mr Reda contributes his expertise by drawing on his wealth of experience as a diplomat and extensive time spent in the private sector to ensure the Chamber moves to the next level.

Mr Reda has a distinguished professional career of more than a decade in banking and corporate industry at SABB HSBC Saudi Arabia, prior to senior positions in the diplomatic service of his country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he served as Commercial Attaché in the UK & Europe, based in London, and in Italy and as part of the Saudi delegation to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris.

Mr Reda holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Orlando, USA. He has been an Executive Member of the Saudi-Italian Business Council, the Council of Saudi Chambers; a Member of the Business Youth Committee, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce; a Member of the Saudi Economy Association; and a Member of the Saudi Arabian legal accountants. Mr Reda has demonstrated his experience and abilities in his roles in both public and private sectors.

Since taking up his post, Mr Reda has successfully steered the Chamber throughout the difficult months of the pandemic and lockdown, a period which presented unprecedented challenges for international trade and the business community. Under Mr Bandar Reda’s guidance and leadership, the Chamber not only continued all its activities uninterrupted but extended its services during this period and has reinforced its reputation as the leading strategic business services organisation in the UK dedicated to strengthening Arab-British trade and building closer business co-operation.

The Rt Hon Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean is a senior Labour member of the House of Lords and a business leader. Formerly Deputy Leader of the House of Lords, Baroness Symons was a Minister in the UK Government from 1997 until stepping down in 2005. Among her government posts she was Minister for the Middle East, Minister for International Trade and Minister for Defence Procurement, and the Prime Minister’s envoy to the Gulf.

Previously a trade union general secretary, she was an Equal Opportunities Commissioner and a governor of the London Business School. As well as working closely with DLA Piper, Baroness Symons is now involved with a number of other commercial organisations, including roles as a non-executive director of British Airways, and as an advisor to other companies, including those with strong Middle East links, and with a number of not-for-profit organisations, including the International Red Cross.

Basel El Hini is currently (since October 2018) Chairman and Managing Director of Misr Insurance Holding Company, which owns Egypt’s largest nonbanking finance Group. Basel has more than 35 years’ experience in finance and investment, with in-depth knowledge of investment, corporate and retail banking, structured finance and syndication, international project finance, financial advisory and macroeconomic policy and reform. Basel has held managerial positions for the last 20 years.
Basel started his career in Egypt with Misr Iran Development Bank, then moved in the mideighties to the Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP) in Saudi Arabia where he progressed to become Middle East & North Africa Business Group Head. In 2000 he relocated to Egypt with ABN AMRO Bank as Regional Head of Integrated Energy and Power. In 2002 he moved to Misr Exterior Bank as General Manager and Board Member, then in 2004 he joined Banque Misr, Egypt's second largest bank as General Manager, and a year later (2005) was chosen by Egypt's Minister of Finance as his Advisor with responsibility for financial restructuring of publicly owned assets.
In early 2008, Basel joined NAEEM Group as Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of Naeem Financial Investments (NFI). From 2008 to 2011, he served as MD, Credit, Corporate and Retail Banking at Banque Du Caire, Egypt’s third largest government- owned bank. In 2012 Basel became non-Executive Chairman of the Financial Sector Investment Fund Company, a position which he still holds. In 2016 Basel became Chairman of BEST Foundation, an NGO providing Micro Finance and support services. In 2018, Basel became the non-Executive Chairman of TEJARA for Investment & Development.
Over the years, Basel has been invited to hold non-executive memberships on Boards of Directors of a considerable number of reputable institutions in diverse sectors. The list includes such names as HSBC Bank, Bank of Alex Intesa San Paolo, Al Ahleya Insurance Co, Eastern Tobacco, Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport, Nasser Social Bank, Tourism Development Authority, Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Co, Oriental Petrochemical Co, Sidi Krier Petrochemical Co, and several others.

Jeanette is currently on secondment as the acting interim director for medtech and digital at NICE, responsible for driving the strategy in the area of medtech and digital technology guidance. Jeanette has supported the setup of the NICE Office for Digital Health and is leading on initiatives such as the multi-agency advisory service for AI and data-driven technologies.
Jeanette’s substantial role is the director of NICE scientific advice, responsible for the stewardship and growth of the NICE scientific advice business unit, which includes all aspects of business development, management, project delivery and governance. She takes an active role in the sign-off and quality assurance of work across all services offered by the team. She chairs many of the national and parallel scientific advice meetings for medical device and pharmaceutical product developers. Previously Jeanette held the positions of head of health technology assessment and health economics and scientific director at Costello Medical, a consultancy within the life science sector. She has broad research interests across different methods for health technology evaluation and has previously worked on clinical trial design, health economic modelling and quality of life measurement. Jeanette studied undergraduate natural sciences at the University of Cambridge and postgraduate health economics at the University of York.

Prof. Hossam Badrawi, a prominent physician and a well-known politician in Egypt, Member of the board of trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandria, a professor in Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.

He chaired the Education Committee in the Egyptian Parliament from the year 2000 to 2005 where he put the basics of Education reform in the country. He chaired the OB/GYN department in Cairo University and served as a board member of the first National Council of Human Rights in Egypt. He earned a BS with honours from Kasr el-Aini School of Medicine in 1974 and received his doctorate degree from the same University and from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He had his doctorate degree in Scanning Electron Microscope, on human endometrium, then graduate studies in Northwest University in Chicago, and later from Boston University, Boston, USA in Education Reform. He published 120 scientific papers and 7 books in his specialty and in education. Prof. Badrawi’s last publication is a book called "At the Café of Dreamers of tomorrow"2020.

Dr Badrawi received in 2007 an honorary PhD. in science from Sunderland University in the UK and an honorary fellowship from Cardiff Metropolitan University Wales, UK in 2014. Professor Badrawi is co-founder of Arab Parliamentarians Against Corruption and he also chaired the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank from 2003 to 2006. He and the honorary chair initiated the National Egyptian Competitive Council and Badrawi Foundation for Education and Development. Badrawi is a trailblazer of private health care sector with his distinguished vision for health care financing, management and provision. Along with his family he established with his family the Nile Badrawi private Hospital in 1985 and the first HMO in Egypt in 1989 Medicare insurance Co.

He is also the president of the Egyptian Association for the Diffusion of Culture and Knowledge, the president of the advisory board of the Education First Foundation and founder of the Thot Center for Political Studies. Besides his academic and political career, professor Badrawi is an active member in several leading NGO’s in Egypt, as he is an advocate of youth, women and children rights.

Dr. Ahmed Ezzeldin Mahmoud Abdelaal joined the Group in June 2015 after previously working at Johnson & Johnson as a director overseeing government affairs and policy for MENA and Pakistan. He had earlier served as managing director responsible for the medical sector at the same company, covering Egypt and Libya. There, he played a role in the development of healthcare systems in Egypt and the Middle East through the creation of four centers of excellence that together trained more than 1,500 healthcare professionals annually from 2006 through 2012. Prior to that, Dr. Ezzeldin worked at GlaxoSmithKline, where he led the Middle East region integration plan as part of the merger of SmithKline & Beecham and Glaxo Wellcome, as well as having roles in resource planning and segmentation projects. He had earlier spent 18 years with pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp & Dohme. Dr. Ezzeldin is past co-chairman of the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and was a member of the Egyptian Ministry of Health’s Supreme Committee for Registration of Medical and Diagnostics Devices. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Pharmaceutical Science from Cairo University.
